Mona Taner
Somewhere between traditional and modern, Mona Taner
redefines the elegance of a woman with her classic and
versatile jewelry. The collection boasts stackable
designs adorned with diamonds and intricate handmade
details meant to capture a woman's inner spirit.
As a New York based designer, Mona draws inspiration from
urban chic. Passionate about jewelry since she was very
young, it was an apprenticeship in her teen years with a
high-end 5th Avenue jeweler that gave her valuable
experience and validated her love of precious gems and
pearls.
After graduating from Syracuse University in 1994, Mona
pursued her major in broadcast journalism and worked
behind the scenes as a producer for CNBC, HBO and various
others. She excelled in the industry quickly but found
herself yearning for her first true love - jewelry.
Mona designed a few pieces and launched Mona Taner
Distinct Jewels in 1999. It's what she had always wanted
to do and it wasn't long before others took notice. She
received national appeal and reached soaring heights when
Oprah wore a few pieces from the collection in her
magazine "O". Since the company's inception, the press has
flooded their publications with Mona's work such as
Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times, Hamptons. Admired by
celebrities and fashionistas alike, Mona never loses sight
of creating stylish jewelry that is timeless.
Mona's use of pearls, diamonds and precious gemstones
transcends all age groups because of her varied and
distinct styling. She continues to forge ahead in the
jewelry industry breaking down the barriers of conformity
and creating a collection that is truly unique and
wearable.
